It is important to note that assets held by the Community Foundation include those we place on deposit with the Vancouver Foundation.
This relationship between the two Foundations is an important one. It gives us the advantage of having a team of investment specialists who manage those funds, a benefit that an organization our size would not normally be able to afford.
While the income from those funds is redirected to our community for grants, the actual dollar amount of those assets are not reported in our financial statements. This ensures that the Campbell River Community Foundation has statements that reflect correct accounting principles by avoiding double reporting those funds in the assets of both organizations.
