Dan is retired after 40 years as a lawyer in Campbell River. Dan practiced mainly in the area of business law, with an emphasis on business succession, wills and estate planning. He became familiar with the Campbell River Community Foundation during his career and advised clients on the benefits of an estate plan which included CRCF. He is the current chair of the fundraising committee.
During his professional career Dan was elected as the founding president of the Campbell River Bar Association, served as president of the Nanaimo County Bar Association and was a director of the BC branch of the Canadian Bar Association for 6 years.
Dan has always taken an active role in volunteering his time on various boards in Campbell River and Vancouver Island. He has sat on boards for the Campbell River Estuary, North Island Cruisers, Steelhead Society, Tyee Club, Campbell River Museum, Vancouver Island Motorsports Association, Wilroc Sprint Car Association and the Campbell River Chamber of Commerce. He is an active member of the Campbell River Daybreak Rotary Club and is a past president. He has always believed in “giving back” and is pleased to be involved with CRCF as a board member and committee chair.
